Schritte Fellowship for 2017

adimlarSince 2007, the S. Fischer Foundation offers fellowships to translators of German literature from Turkey and from countries of Southeast Europe. The fellowships consist of the four-week stay in the Literary Colloquium Berlin. The program has recently been extended to translators to Belarussian, Polish and Ukrainian. Eligible to apply for 2017 are translators from Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Albania, and Turkey.

Poetry in Summer Heat – Disku(r)sija with Petar Matović and Jasmina Topić

469 matovicIn the hot Dalmatian high summer, the Serbian poet Petar Matović was guest of the residence program in Split, organized by the association KURS and supported by TRADUKI. Matović presented his poetry to the audience in Split on the evening of July 15, in midst of the lively crowds on the streets of Split, in a discussion with the host Marijo Glavaš, a poet from Split. At the same event, the poet Jasmina Topić presented the poetry book Najbolja (The Best), a cross section of the poetry scene of the north Serbian town of Pančevo. It was a cheerful poetry evening, in which the audience enjoyed very much.

Professor Dr. Winfried J. Huppmann Died

winfried huppmannOn August 13, 2016, the network Traduki lost a great supporter and a close friend. Winfried J. Huppmann, professor emeritus at the TU Vienna, was involved in the work of Traduki out of strong conviction: “Arts and culture create sense and support community. It is a great pleasure to be able to use my experience in that way.”
