With the visit of the poet and journalist Blerina Rogova Gaxha in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, the publishing house Goga, successfully continued the youngest of the TRADUKI-sponsored writers in residence programs. Blerina Rogova Gaxha already presented her work to the Slovenian audience last year at the International Literary Festival Vilenica, at which she was awarded the Vilenica Crystal for the best literary performance.
Within the TRADUKI-sponsored European writers in residence program for writers and translators in Sarajevo, the PEN Centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the Croatian poet Branko Čegec during the month of June. At the end of his one-month stay, Čegec was presented to the Sarajevo audience in a discussion with Nedžad Ibrahimović und Amela Balić.
As part of the year of cultural exchange focus of the Austrian Ministry of Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, in close cooperation with TRADUKI, another reading took place in Linz on June 21st. The host of the reading titled “Between Sarajevo and Banja Luka – new voices from Bosnia and Herzegovina” was the Stifter House in Linz, named after the writer Adalbert Stifter.
