International translation workshop Mülheim

The ITI, together with the "Stücke" Festival would like to invite translators of German drama for a workshop in Mülheim from May 16 to May 31, 2009.

The aim of this workshop is the promotion of new German drama and the approach to foreign-language theatre through translation. The focus is set on working on selected texts, that will be supported by an active exchange with colleagues and authors.  Actual texts of contemporary German authors will not only be treated as literature, the festival will be a form of theatrical realization. This is the way for new impulses to emerge for the translation itself, but also for further stagings in the native countries of the translators.
