Safet Ahmeti was born in 1967 in Makarska (Croatia). In his PhD, he was dealing with contemporary art and anthropology. Between 2003 and 2008, he was teaching visual culture and communication at the Southeast European University of Tetovo. In 2011, he established in partnership with the Centre for Visual Studies Zagreb (CVS) the Centre for Visual Studies Skopje and was his first director. During the development of new program contents of the centre, he advocated among other the translation of relevant books. The Centre for Visual Studies Skopje is a part of the network Visual Culture in Europe and the International Association for Visual Culture.
