Nedelcu, Octavia


Octavia Nedelcu, born in 1957 in Cenei (Romania), studied at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature of Bucharest University. She received her doctorate of Serbian Literature in 1999 after completing a dissertation on the works of Miloš Crnjanski. She publishes academic books and texts as well as reviews? recensions in literary journals. She is also a member of the Romanian author association (in the translation and interpreting department) and works as a literary translator, and as a conference and court interpreter from Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian. She has translated works by Sveta Lukić, Svetomir Rajkov, Pavao Pavličić, Miloš Crnjanski, Ivanka Bernède, Dušan Kovačević, Dubravka Ugrešić, and others.
