acevska vesnaVesna Acevska was born in 1952 in Skopje. In 2009, she received the most important Macedonian prize for poetry, the Miladinov Brothers Award. Macedonian literary critique adores her: Katica Kulavkova, herself a poet, literary critic and member of the Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences describes her poetry as a „paradigmatic example of the best in Macedonian poetry.” Vesna Acevska is also known for her children’s books and translations. She received the Grigor Prličev Award and the award of the Kalevala Society for the translation of Kalevala from Finnish to Macedonian. Her poems have been translated to many languages, especially in the Balkans.

Beginning of the lyric series tradukita poezio

28_tradukitaIn 2010, in cooperation with the publishing house Edition Korrespondenzen, TRADUKI initiated the poetry series tradukita poezio in order to present distinguished poets from Southeast Europe in their first translations to German. All books in the series are superbly translated and carefully edited bilingual editions.
