Totka Monova has a PhD in philology and is a professor of Media Communication (since 2013) and lecturer of Text Theory and Practice (since 2000) at the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She is the head of the Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, a member of the Bulgarian Journalists’ Union and a member of the International Gutenberg Society. From 2003 to 2011, she was a member of the academic council of the University of Sofia and from 2007 to 2009 a member of the artistic council of the Bulgarian national radio. She has written over 100 scientific texts, including 4 monographs. Totka Monova is an expert in the field of media analysis. Her publications deal with text theory, political and totalitarian discourse, media anthropology and literary communication.
