311 paicIn this theoretical study, Žarko Paić develops an innovative approach to the concept of visual communication. He goes beyond the traditional semiotic relation between picture and meaning in the virtual space of digital culture. He follows media theories of Mitchell, Manovich und Mersch and points out the basic problem of critical thinking – the visual construction of culture as a communication product – and advocates a new interdisciplinary science of media image communication.
