Pisma divljem skitu

Šodan, Damir.

269 sodan pismaDamir Šodan, one of the most interesting contemporary Croatian poets, explores in the poems of this volume the historical and geographic space of Europe with a voice of a modern “poeta doctus”. He resorts to literary and philosophical traditions and by putting them into new contexts, he creates his own mythology of the European continent. Quotations in several languages and intertextual links give these verses great depth and make them appear as a poetical palimpsest that the reader has to decipher.

Pisma divljem skitu [Letters to a Wild Scythe] by Damir Šodan has been translated to Slovenian (excerpt) by Jurij Hudolin under the title Čez cesto Spinozove hiše, published by Apokalipsa, Ljubljana.
