Fabio Pusterla was born in 1957 in Mendrisio, Switzerland. He lives in northern Italy and teaches Italian language and literature at the university and high school in Lugano. He published numerous books of poetry for which he received renowned Swiss literary prizes, namely the Schiller prize and the Gottfried Keller prize. Besides writing poems, he also writes essays and translates contemporary lyric from French and Portuguese. He translated to Italian most of the works of Philippe Jaccottet.
