Schamanin

Vukićević, Danica.

343 vukicevic schamaninThe lyrical texts of Danica Vukićević do not describe reality as it is, even though sometimes her hyper-realistic images look like looking-glass pictures of the ugliness of the world. The standing point from which insights like this are possible, is the reality as it could be, as we have imagined it in half-sleep, in child’s fantasy that seduces you to good literature. Danica Vukićević outlines accurately the absentmindedness of the world surrounding her. The poet catches the flashes of the beauty in the every-day passage of things, sometimes also the fragile and unreliable memory of the lightness of being.

The bilingual book of poetry Schamanin [The Shaman] by Danica Vukićević (excerpt) has been published by Drava, Klagenfurt/Celovec. The editor of the volume is Dragoslav Dedović, the translation from Serbian has been made by Matthias Jacob.
