Alma Lazarevska was born in 1957 in Veles, Macedonia. Today she lives in Sarajevo, where she also grew up. She writes in Bosnian. She studied Comparative Literary Studies and Theatre Studies in Sarajevo and has been working as a writer and journalist since the eighties. Two of her novels have been translated into German – Im Zeichen der Rose (2002) and Tod im Museum für Moderne Kunst (2012) – and have been published by Drava in Klagenfurt.
