Within the scope of the writers in residence program Tirana in Between, the Albanian Ministry of Culture made possible another fellowship. This enabled the translator Zuzana Finger to visit Tirana for 4 weeks in September. During her stay, the literary festival Poeteka – dadaEAST / dadaDAYS took place, and Zuzana Finger participated in a symposium and in a round table discussion that revolved around the fate of the spirit of Dada and avant-garde in the 21st century.
She also used the time in Tirana to meet with Albanian poets whose poems she had translated to German and would like to see them published. She talked with writers Arian Leka, Luljeta Lleshanaku, Parid Teferiçi, Agron Tufa and Eljan Tanini. On the trail of Albania’s past, she took a cultural and historic city tour. The media followed Zuzana Finger’s activities with interest, so that she gave several interviews (Mapo, Gazeta Shqiptare, Panorama, Unë gruaja, Madame-Mapo) and was guest at the TV-station Top Channel („Wake up“, third part, from minute 24-34). Zuzana Finger, born in 1959 in Sala (Czechoslovakia), studied Slavic and Balkans studies in Berlin. Since 2010, she has been working on the preservation of the culture of Sudeten Germans. She translates from Albanian, Serbian, Slovak, and Czezch language to German.
