Upon invitation of the association RK LINKS, the historian Dubravka Stojanović had a lecture titled We have forgotten everything … on November 25 in Belgrade. She exposed how much had the political changes since the 1980s in Serbia changed the public view of the history, how much the history was misused in the last 30 years by respective ruling powers to reach their political goals, and how it was reinterpreted almost beyond recognition. Laws, street names, memorials, public holidays, school books have been changed, and it became clear: everything and everybody can be forgotten.
Dubravka Stojanović is professor at the department of history at the Faculty of Arts in Belgrade. The cycle of lectures On Oblivion and Forgotten Ones is organized with the support of TRADUKI.
