Nenad Rizvanović was Writer in Residence in Sarajevo

548 rizvanovicThe first guest of the writers in residence program in Sarajevo, organized by PEN Centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the support of TRADUKI, was the Croatian writer Nenad Rizvanović who came to Sarajevo in May. According to Rizvanović, residential scholarships are an ideal opportunity for writers to work for a month on their current manuscript, and he thanked the organizers for the fellowship that he used to draft his new book, a family chronicle with the working title Svijet oko nas [The World Around Us].

On May 24, in a discussion with the host Ahmed Burić, he presented his works to a Sarajevo audience. He talked about the Festival of Alternative Arts that he had established but couldn’t continue to run despite its great success, and about the position and reception of writes in societies of Southeast Europe.
