In June, the publishing house Goten welcomed a guest from Croatia within its TRADUKI supported writers in residence program Absolute modern in Skopje: For four weeks, Renato Baretić worked intensively on the script for two new episodes of the TV-series Crno-bijeli svijet as well as on the comedy that will be staged by the theatre Scena Gorica in Zagreb.
He met many of his writer colleagues in Skopje and made new contacts in the Macedonian literary and arts scene. Being a journalist, Baretić’s interest also turned to the current political situation in Macedonia. He gave three big interviews and participated in a literary evening, giving the Macedonian audience the opportunity to get to know him. With a fellow writer Emir Imamović he spoke about his works, the role of literature in today’s society and literature’s influence on social and cultural development.
