The Literary House Salzburg hosted on November 27 a literary evening with Daša Drndić and Marko Pogačar thus presenting two generations of Croatian writers. The evening was organized by the literary forum Leselampe and the association prolit as a part of the year of the cultural exchange between Croatia and Austria of the Autrian Foreign Ministry in cooperation with TRADUKI.
Due to health reasons, Daša Drndić could not come to Salzburg, but the extensive presentation of her book Sonnenschein made her presence felt. Marko Pogačar read poems from his poetry book Crna pokrajina. In a lively discussion with the moderator Annemarie Türk, he spoke about the linguistic developments after the breakup of Yugoslavia and about social issues in the successor states. The German texts were read by Petra Nagenkögel, the interpretor from Croatian was Maša Dabić.
