A fellowship by Pro Helvetia allowed the young Swiss writer Yael Inokai to spend the month of September in Split. The four-week stay was organized by the association KURS, which has been managing the TRADUKI-supported writers in residence program since over 10 years.
Yael Inokai used her stay to write and to search for inspiration by exploring the Dalmatian city, its surroundings and nearby islands. On September 14th, she took part in a literary evening Disku(r)sija, together with fellow writer Giovanni Agnoloni from Italy and Igor Rajki from Croatia. The host of the evening Patricija Horvat talked with her guests about literatures of Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Croatia, about the possibility to earn one’s living with writing, and about the role that literary translation and mobility programs play in the intermediation between various languages and cultures.
