Briefe an Milena

Kafka, Franz.

kafka_milenaAt the beginning of the year 1920, Franz Kafka met Milena. A very close friendship developed between her and Kafka. Kafka's diaries already showed us the true depth of their friendship, but we could only guess at what these letters, published for the first time, reveal: a romance, an orgy of desperation, bliss, self-flagellation, and self-humiliation.

Franz Kafka’s Briefe an Milena (title of the English translation: Letters to Milena) has been translated to Slovenian (excerpt) by Amalija Maček under the title Pisma Mileni Jesenski, published by Študentska založba, Ljubljana and to Bulgarian (excerpt) by Galina Pavlova under the title Писма до Милена, published by Kariva, Varna.
