Georgi Gospodinov, born in 1968 in Jambol (Bulgaria), studied Bulgarian philology  in Sofia. He published lyrical poetry and prose, edited a literature journal, is a columnist of the daily newspaper Dnevnik and works at the Institute of Literature of the Bulgarian Academy of Arts. He has also enjoyed success as a stage and scriptwriter.

In 1992 Georgi Gospodinov made his debut with the volume of poetry Лапидариум (title of the English translation: Lapidarium), followed by a further volume of poetry in 1996. He became known to an international audience with his first novel Eстествен роман (title of the English translation: Natural Novel), which was translated into many languages.

Beginning of the lyric series tradukita poezio

28_tradukitaIn 2010, in cooperation with the publishing house Edition Korrespondenzen, TRADUKI initiated the poetry series tradukita poezio in order to present distinguished poets from Southeast Europe in their first translations to German. All books in the series are superbly translated and carefully edited bilingual editions.
