Jelena Lengold, poet, story writer and author of novels, was born in Kruševac (Serbia) in 1959. She published many volumes of poetry and volumes of stories as well as the novel

Vašarski mađioničar she received several more awards: "Žensko pero", "Biljana Jovanović" and "Zlatni Hit Liber". Jelena Lengold is represented in several anthologies and collections of contemporary Serbian literature, her works have been translated into English, Italian, French, Danish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Ukrainian and Czech. She lives and works in Belgrade.
