Скриена камера

Dimkovska, Lidija.

dimovska_kameraThe Macedonian author Lila, the Albanian photographer Edlira and the Pakistani musician Joseph met up abroad when they all held grants from an Austrian cultural foundation. After initial misunderstandings a close friendship developed between Lila and Edlira, even a love attachment between Edlira and Joseph. Edlira had hepatitis however. She died just before the end of their time together in Vienna and Joseph decided to return to Pakistan. From varying perspectives the novel revolves around the question of being foreign and of the homeland and observes with refreshing (self) irony the situations and involvements of their protagonists in modern nomadism.

The novel Скриена камера [Hidden Camera] by Lidija Dimkovska has been translated into Bulgarian (excerpt) by Aleksandra Liven under the title Скрита камера, published by Balkani 93, Sofia.
