Tomaž Šalamun, born in 1941 in Zagreb, grew up in the Slovenian city of Koper. Today he lives in Ljubljana and for part of the time in the United States, where he spent two years at the University of Iowa and worked for a while as the Cultural Attaché at the Slovenian Embassy in New York. His volume of poetry Poker (1966), which was followed by 30 more volumes, marked a new beginning in Slovenian poetry. Tomaž Šalamun’s poems have been translated into almost all European languages.

Beginning of the lyric series tradukita poezio

28_tradukitaIn 2010, in cooperation with the publishing house Edition Korrespondenzen, TRADUKI initiated the poetry series tradukita poezio in order to present distinguished poets from Southeast Europe in their first translations to German. All books in the series are superbly translated and carefully edited bilingual editions.
