Sibylle Berg, born not too long ago in Weimar, has been referred to as the Über-mother of young German literature since her debut novel “A few people are looking for happiness and laughing themselves to death” (1997). She could do without it.

As well as numerous books, this chain smoker has written theatre plays and texts for various magazines in Germany and Switzerland, including Das Magazin (Zürich), Allegra (Hamburg) and the Zeit newspaper’s magazine.
Her theatre plays (Helges Life; Dog, Man, Woman; Look the sun’s going down etc.) are performed on many stages at home and abroad, her newest piece, the musical “Make a wish”, was premiered at the Schauspielhaus in Zürich.
Sibylle Berg lives in Zürich, because it’s nice there.
