On 29th August Vasile Ernu presented himself to literature enthusiasts as part of the event series Disku(r)sija in Split. The Romanian author is deemed to be one of the most important representatives of contemporary Eastern European literature. This August he was a participant of the TRADUKI funded Writer in Residence programme Marko Marulić, organised by the association KURS. During his stay in the Dalmatian coastal town, Vasile Ernu worked on the third part of his trilogy Mică trilogie a marginalilor [Little Trilogy of Marginal People].
In the evening of November 9th 2017, within the Artists in Residence program of the Austrian Federal Chancellery and of KulturKontakt Austria, the Slovenian writer Dino Bauk presented his book Konec. Znova, which has recently been published with the support of TRADUKI in German under the title Ende. Abermals.
The second edition of the international literary festival Bookstan took place between July 4 and July 7 in Sarajevo. The organizers, the publishing house Buybook, prepared an extensive program with readings, talks, discussions, exhibitions and workshops. The focal topics this year were neighbourhood and fluid identities. The support of TRADUKI allowed authors Nellja Veremej (Germany/Russia), Tadej Golob and Goran Vojnović (Slovenia) as well as Rumena Bužarovska and Tihomir Jančovski (Macedonia) to perform in front of Sarajevo audience. Katja Stergar from Slovenian Book Agency JAK travelled to Split as the representative of TRADUKI to participate in the discussion „Small Languages, Policies of Translations “.
