On 25 September 2009 the Austrian novelist Christoph Ransmayr and the German poet Daniela Danz held a reading from their books The Last World (Ransmayr) and Pontus (Danz) in the Bucharest bookshop Cărtureşti . In these works both authors use the Black Sea as a theme. The second edition of Ransmayr’s novel was published in 2009 by the Rumanian publisher RAO. The reading was organised by the S. Fischer Foundation (TRADUKI) in partnership with the Austrian Culture Forum of Bucharest, publisher RAO, the Bucharest book information centre and the Bucharest Goethe-Institut.

Edo Popović in the Hessian literature forum


At the invitation of the Hessisches Literaturforum the Croatian writer Edo Popović presents his novel „The Players" in the Mousonturm in Frankfurt today. The book appeared in March this year, published by Voland & Quist and translated by Alida Bremer. Martin Maria Schwarz from Hessian radio hosts the event.

The reading is taking place in cooperation with the TRADUKI network, which also financially supports the German translation of the novel
