With the kind support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Translation House Looren organize from November 4–8, 2016 the workshop called Über Kreuz. For several days, the participating translators and editors will swap their roles, in order to reflect on their jobs. The central part of the workshop is devoted to the discussion of sample translations that were made as a part of the application.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Arbeitskreis für Jugendliteratur e.V. (IBBY Germany) invite translators to the 7th workshop for translators of German children’s and youth literatures. The five-day workshop, taking place between September 4-9, 2016, offers 15 translators of German language literature for young readers the opportunity to discuss current trends in German language books for young readers and to tackle specific problems of the genre. Deadline for applications is May 2, 2016.
The Austrian Foreign Ministry BMEIA, as a part of the cultural exchange year between Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, offers a four week writing fellowship on the topic “Women’s Lives in Dialogue” to a writer/journalist/blogger from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The idea originates from the literary project Islam and the contemporary feminine literature taking place in Hittisau in August 2015. Deadline for applications is March 31, 2016.
