The Austrian Federal Chancellery of Austria in cooperation with KulturKontakt Austria makes available 50 residencies for foreign artists. The aim of the residencies in Austria (Vienna and Salzburg) is to offer an opportunity to become familiar with the Austrian art scene and cultural environment, as well as to make contacts with Austrian artists. The goal is to realise an own project during the residency. Activities on offer include visits at galleries, studios and museums, contacts to the literature and publishing sector, as well as access to Vienna’s or Salzburg’s music life. Deadline for applications is September 30, 2016.
The German Translation Fund invites to a German-Slovenian translation workshop in Berlin. The five-day workshop, headed by Erwin Köstler and Amalija Maček will take place between December 4 and 9, 2016. It is aimed at professional literary translators who already have at least one published translation.
With the kind support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Translation House Looren organize from November 4–8, 2016 the workshop called Über Kreuz. For several days, the participating translators and editors will swap their roles, in order to reflect on their jobs. The central part of the workshop is devoted to the discussion of sample translations that were made as a part of the application.
