Between October 23 and 28, 2017, the European Translators' Collegium (EÜK) in Straelen will be the venue of a translators‘ workshop for language combination German–Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. The workshop is supported by the ViceVersa program of the German Translators’ Funds, the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Kunststiftung NRW and the German Foreign Ministry. The workshop’s mentors are Helen Sinković and Dr. Brigitte Döbert. Under their guidance, twelve participants will work on the projects they submitted, discuss translation relevant topics, and exchange experience. Deadline for applications is August 23, 2017.
On the occasion of Romania’s guest of honour participation at the Leipzig Book Fair, the Romanian Cultural Institute published two special calls for applications in order to boost the support of translations to German before the book fair. Until June 30, publishing houses can apply within the “Translation and Publication Support Programme” and the “Publishing Romania Programme“ with their own book projects.
The History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently rethinking the content, structure and design of its permanent exhibition “Besieged Sarajevo” which was inaugurated in 2003. In this context, the History Museum is organizing, in cooperation with the Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft (Munich), a two-days-workshop in Sarajevo with the title “Wake up Europe, Sarajevo Calling” that will take place in Sarajevo from June 26 – 29, 2017. The workshop will bring together the team of the History Museum of BiH and curators, historians and educators from the Western Balkans and the European Union, with the aim to work on the current exhibition and to elaborate concrete recommendations for its further development.
