In Summer Starts New TRADUKI Writers in Residence Program in Sofia

531 next pageUntil June 15, writers and translators can apply for a monthly stay in House of Literature and Translation in Sofia. In cooperation with TRADUKI, the Next Page Foundation launches there a new program for writers and translators in order to intensify the literary exchange within Southeast Europe and between Southeast Europe and German speaking countries. The fellowship allows writers and translators to focus on their current project, to use libraries and research centres, to establish contacts, to enjoy the cultural scene of Sofia and to present their work to the Bulgarian audience.

Fabjan Hafner Prize for Exceptional Translations (German-Slovenian)

530 ausschreibungGoethe-Institut in cooperation with the Literary Colloquium Berlin (LCB) presents the first Fabjan Hafner Prize that will be awarded to the best translators from German to Slovenian and from Slovenian to German. In 2017, the Prize will be awarded for an exceptional translation from German to Slovenian, and in 2018 for a translation into German. The prize is named after Fabjan Hafner (1966–2016), a important translator, poet and literary scientist. The prize includes also a one-month fellowship in the Literary Colloquium Berlin. Deadline for applications is June 30, 2017.

Summer School „History Takes Place“ in Sarajevo und Belgrad

528 zeitstiftungThe ZEIT-Stiftung invites young researchers to participate in the summer school History Takes Place – Dynamics of Urban Change that will take place between September 4 and 15 and will focus on the complex and multi-layered history of Belgrade and Sarajevo. The summer school is aimed at doctoral students – historians, art historians, archaeologists, cultural and social scientists, city planners and architects. Sessions will be held in English. Deadline for applications: May 29, 2017.
