The Slovenian Book Agency JAK invites translators of Slovenian literature to participate in the 3rd international translators’ workshop from 19th to 24th August 2013 in Novo mesto. 16 selected translators will translate works from four Slovenian writers (Berta Bojetu Boeta, Dušan Šarotar, Marko Sosič, Peter Svetina) and will be able to take part in the lectures on different topics, such as contemporary Slovenian literature, publishing and literature support. Applications must be sent no later than 7th June 2013.
In cooperation with KulturKontakt Austria, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, the Arts and Culture makes available 50 residencies in Vienna for the year 2014. This call is open to artists, writers, composers, curators and art educators whose place of residence is outside of Austria.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Association for Children's and Youth Literature (AKJ) invite translators of German-language children and youth literature to the fourth translation workshop taking place in the Elsa Brändström Haus in Hamburg from 25th to 30th August 2013. Up to 15 translators who will be selected for the workshop will get to know the latest developments in the German literature for young readers and will work on the special translation problems of this specific genre. The participating translators will meet authors, critics and publishers and will receive information about the existing networks and about possibilities of translation support. The deadline for application is 2nd May 2013.
