The Serbian Ministry of Culture and Media invites international publishers to apply to the project of translation of representative literary works written in Serbian or minority languages, in order to get financial support for translation of these works abroad. Special consideration will be given to the translations of works by the following authors, bearing in the mind the anniversaries: Petar II Petrović Njegoš (200th anniversary of his birth), Miloš Crnjanski (120th anniversary of his birth) and Jovan Dučić (70th anniversary of his death), but also to other authors that have been shortlisted or have won one of the relevant Serbian literary awards. Financial supports covers up exclusively 50 % of the translation costs. The deadline for applications is the 29th March 2013.
The KROKODIL association from Belgrade will continue its Writer-in-Residence programme that started in October 2012 also in 2013. Writers, essayists, columnists and playwrights from all European countries can apply for one month’s work stay in Belgrade until 15th February 2013. Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of 800 euro for their stay.
